Endovascular techniques are minimally invasive methods that use small catheters passed through blood vessels to access target areas in the brain. Commonly treated conditions include cerebral aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations and carotid-cavernous fistulas. Angioplasty with stent placement is performed in opening arteries narrowed by disease. Dr. McDougall is Chief of Endovascular Neurosurgery at Barrow Neurological Institute. His background includes residency training at the University of Saskatchewan and the University of California at San Francisco. He achieved his Fellowship training at the University of California at San Francisco in Interventional Neuroradiology. He held an academic position with the University of California at San Francisco where he was Assistant Clinical Professor of Radiology. Dr. McDougall is board certified with the American Board of Neurological Surgery. |
